KWAM, The Mighty 990, is the Mid-South’s home for Todd Starnes, Tim Van Horn, The Mid-South Gardening, Earle Farrell and more. The Mighty 990 is the only locally owned news and talk radio station in the region. The original radio station signed on the air on February 23, 1947. Starnes Media Group purchased the station in 2020 and resurrected the original slogan, “The Mighty 990.” Our crystal-clear signal can be heard across the tri-state region. KWAM broadcasts news, traffic and weather at 990 AM and 107.9 FM and features a lineup of local and national hosts including Todd Starnes, Tim Van Horn, Ben Deeter, Earle Farrell, Bill O’Reilly, Sebastian Gorka, Lars Larson, The Mid-South Gardening Show, Chet & Sherrie, Frederick Tappan and more. KWAM is a Salem Radio News affiliate.
